We love because Jesus first loved us. — 1 John 4:19
< Living for Jesus is more about what Jesus does in and through us,
as we surrender ourselves to Him in response to His love.
The joy is to experience how He can do immeasurably more than we can ever ask for or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).
It is less about what we do for Jesus in His name by our own effort for our own spiritual performance.
If we ever lose our first love for Jesus, we lose that joy and the intimacy in Him.
When that happens, service is just going through the motion and can no longer bring pleasure. >
— paraphrased from “The Joy of Intimacy with God” by Dr. Bill Bright
Do you feel stressed, unappreciated, worn-out, pressured, trapped?
Call a “Martha” time-out and
Start a “Mary” time-in: take time to sit at the feet of Jesus. Let our soul soak in His love. Let His Spirit minister to us through prayers and through His Word. Make that a priority and make it a daily habit.
